What do I need to start using Internet Banking?
You will need the following to start using Internet Banking:
Internet Banking ID

The Customer ID printed on the first page of your chequebook is your Internet Banking ID.

If you have forgotten your ID, the same can be generated by clicking on 'Get User ID' under the ‘Login’ section on our website through Internet Banking.

Internet Banking Password

The Internet Banking Password is in the PIN mailer which is a part of the Welcome Kit given to you after account opening.

Are there any charges for using Internet Banking?
No. The Internet banking facility is free of charge.
What is One Time Password (OTP)?
One Time Password (OTP) has been introduced as an additional security feature to protect your account from online frauds. OTP is a numeric 6-digit code sent to the mobile number registered with ICICI Bank. The OTP is confidential and should not be shared with anyone, even if the person claims to be an ICICI Bank official.
When will I be asked to enter an OTP?
You are required to authenticate your transactions by entering an OTP.
How do I know which OTP should be entered if I receive multiple OTPs?
If there is a change in your Internet Banking login details, you will need to enter an OTP for carrying out transactions. A new OTP will be generated for each login and you will have to enter the same to continue using Internet Banking.
Is there any other way to get an OTP?
Since this is an additional security measure, the OTP is sent only to your registered mobile number OR
You may call Phone Banking and enter your 16-digit ATM/ Debit Card number and 4-digit ATM PIN to know your OTP.
How do I transact or place request online if I do not receive an OTP?
You may call Phone Banking and enter your 16-digit ATM/ Debit Card number and 4-digit ATM PIN to know your OTP.
I am entering the correct OTP but am still getting the message that it is incorrect?
If you have tried to transact multiple times, multiple OTPs will be generated. Every new transaction/ request will generate a new OTP. You will have to enter the same to access your Internet Banking Account.
Can I use the same OTP multiple times?
A single OTP is valid for one successful transaction/ request. OTP is a dynamic password and is valid for the current session only.
Will my User ID be disabled if I enter the OTP incorrectly?
Your Internet Banking User ID will not be disabled. However, SMS OTP facility will be disabled after 3 incorrect attempts. You may call ICICI Bank Customer Care to enable the SMS OTP facility again.
How can I activate my User ID?
If you remember the password, you can call us to activate your Internet Banking User ID. If you have forgotten the password then online password generation option will be provided to you.
Are there any charges to receive OTP on international mobile numbers?
ICICI Bank does not levy any service charge for sending OTP on any international mobile number.
Can I update a single mobile number for multiple User IDs?
A single mobile number cannot be updated for multiple User IDs.
In which format does the mobile number have to be updated?
The format to update the mobile number is Country Code & Mobile number. For example, a UK mobile number is 441234567890 (44 stands for UK Country code & 1234567890 denotes the mobile number).
What is the Turnaround Time for updating the mobile number?
The request for updating the mobile number will be processed within 1 working day.
What is the validity of an OTP?
A single OTP is valid for one successful transaction/ request.
Why has the e-mail OTP been discontinued?
To enhance the account security, with effect from Oct 2016, all the key transaction alerts for Internet Banking will be sent to your registered mobile number.
What if I want to continue with the e-mail OTP?
The OTP cannot be sent to your registered e-mail ID. OTPs are sent only to the registered mobile number updated in our records.
Is Mobile Banking available for NRI customers?
Yes, the Mobile Banking facility is available for NRI customers.
How can I register for SMS alerts (Mobile Banking facility)?
To avail the Mobile Banking facility, please instal the iMobile appfrom Google Play Store/ App Store and follow the steps given below:
- On the welcome screen, select ‘I am NRI User’
- Enter your Internet Banking User ID and Password
- Create your MPIN
- Carry out Grid Card authentication
- You will be able to use the Mobile Banking facility.

Are there any charges for SMS alerts?
No charges are levied by ICICI Bank for SMS alerts. Please check with your telecom operator for applicable charges, if any.
