What is the minimum balance required to be maintained for an ICICI Bank Savings Account?

The minimum average quarterly balance required to be maintained for a Savings Account is Rs.10,000/- in metro and urban locations and Rs. 5,000/- in semi-urban and rural locations.

At what frequency will the interest be paid to me?

Interest earned on your Savings Account balance shall be credited to your account on a half yearly basis in the months of September and March.

In case of the linked Money Multiplier Account, the accrued interest on the FD's created will be paid on maturity or on withdrawal in case of premature withdrawal.

Do I need an introduction from an existing ICICI Bank account holder?

The Bank needs no introduction from an existing ICICI Bank account holder if you are submitting proof of identity and address documents, as prescribed. However if you do not posses any of the address proof document then an introduction from an ICICI Bank account holder, having satisfactory relationship of more than six months, is required.

Whom can I include as Joint Applicants?

Anyone can be included as a joint applicant for a Savings Account except a minor (less than 18 years of age).

How can I change the nominee(s) for my ICICI Bank Savings Account?

You can change the nominee(s) by making a declaration to that effect, in the appropriate form, which is available at any of the ICICI Bank branches.

Do I have any facility for Standing Instructions?

Yes, you can set up standing instructions through your ICICI Bank Savings Account. A few examples of the same are as below:

  • Transfer to a Fixed Deposit.
  • Transfer to a Recurring Deposit
  • Make recurring payments like LIC premium, Installments etc.

What is Money Multiplier facility?

A Money Multiplier Account allows you to set a minimum balance (subject to a minimum of Rs 10,000) to be maintained in your Savings Account. You can put in a request for the transfer of the excess of the minimum Savings Bank Account balance to Fixed Deposits in units of Rs 5,000 and for a period of one year or more, as specified by you. So you enjoy a higher effective rate of interest on your deposit.

When you need the money, you can withdraw it by issuing a cheque or through an ATM. The deposit gets broken in multiples of Rs. 5,000 automatically. Thus, you don't lose out on liquidity either!

How to update the new address in your Saving Accounts?

You can update your address through any of the following options:

a. Internet Banking:

  1. Visit www.icicibank.com site
  2. Log into Internet Banking using your user ID and password
  3. Click on “Service Requests”
  4. Click on the option 'Request for change in communication address for Bank Account'

b. Phone Banking:

  1. Call our 24-hour Customer Care
  2. Enter your 16-digit ATM/debit card number
  3. Enter your 4-digit PIN number (personal identification number)
  4. Select option 3 to update your contact details
  5. Select 1 to update your communication address.You will be then connected to a Customer Service Officer.

c. Branch:

* Visit any ICICI Bank branch and submit an application. OR
* Send across a duly- signed application to the branch where you opened your account.

If the account is opened less than six months ago:
Please place a request for address change at any ICICI Bank branch along with a proof of your address

Any one of the following documents can be submitted for address change:

  1. Valid Passport
  2. Voter's ID
  3. Driving License
  4. Bank Statement/Passbook (cancelled cheque mandatory)

Verified copies of

  1. Electircity bills (Not more than 2 months old)
  2. Residence Telephone bills (not more than 2 months old)
  3. Leave and License agreement/Agreement for sales

How to update PAN number

Visit any of our nearest ICICI Bank branches along with your original PAN card, and submit the following details:

How to update email address

You can update your e-mail ID through any of the following options:

a. Internet Banking:

  1. Visit www.icicibank.com site
  2. Log into Internet Banking using your user ID and passwords.
  3. Select ' Bank '.
  4. Select ' Account Statement by e-mail '.
  5. Update the ' e-mail ID ' column with your new e-mail ID.
  6. Reconfirm your e-mail ID in the ' Reconfirm ' column.
  7. Click on ' Submit '.

b. Phone Banking:

  1. Call our 24-hour Customer Care
  2. Enter your 16-digit ATM/debit card number

  4. Press 9 to speak to our Customer care Executive
